“Our customers in the enterprise, government and education markets want more flexibility and control over video content and the confidence to deliver live streaming events to viewers across their networks,” said Starbak CEO Greg Casale. “The new version of Starbak Manager provides these capabilities and many additional enhancements that have made V3 the video platform of choice for some of the largest organizations in the world.”

The Starbak system consists of video portal capture products and distributed delivery nodes that reside on the customer’s private network. Starbak’s solution allows live and on-demand video content to be served locally to viewers over high-bandwidth corporate LANs, preserving scarce and valuable WAN bandwidth.
Starbak Manager is a centralized management system, within the V3 system, that provides the ability to manage devices, content and users within a customer’s global streaming environment. In addition, Starbak Manager provides a dynamic Web-based user portal that simplifies the capture, publishing and distribution of video content across the private network. New enhancements to Starbak Manager include:
•Homepage Customization – All filters (Recently Added, Today’s Programs, etc.) and items in the program summary can be toggled on or off and page size for programs listed on the homepage can be customized.
•Program Viewer – Multiple program viewer “themes”, or customized appearances, can be installed and used concurrently. Version 3.2 ships with three themes as standard (factory Default, WMP Video Only and Silverlight Video Only).
•Viewer Mappings – Viewer Mappings can now be made for groups of Delivery Nodes (DN) instead of only single DNs.
•Program Invitations – Once a program has been published, an email invitation can be sent which includes program name, description and link.
Starbak’s video portal and HD digital signage solutions are currently used by such leading national and global organizations as the Government of India, MetLife, Auburn University, Cleveland Clinic, Lockheed Martin, and Dow Chemical Company.
