A whole lot more closed circuit surveillance cameras (“several hundred,” according to the Department of Homeland Security) are heading to Orlando International Airport.
The $7.5 million project is part of $56 million in spending announced Wednesday by DHS. The funds are provided under the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA), aka the Stimulus Bill.
“By utilizing Recovery Act funds to enhance vital airport security technology projects, we will continue to streamline the passenger check-in process and enhance airport security, while boosting local economies,” DHS Secretary Janet Napolitano said in a statement.
