Maryland: Speed Enforcement-Cam Legislation Reaches Governor

The bill enables cameras in school and construction zones and sets a $40 fine

Maryland Governor Martin O’Malley (D.)is expected to sign legislation starting a statewide speed enforcement camera program.

The Maryland House overwhelmingly approved a Senate-backed bill, sending it to the governor.

The bill enables cameras in school and construction zones and sets a $40 fine. It would only apply to violations greater than 12 mph over the speed limit.
