Remember the way Glenn Miller played? You’ll get to hear it again when the proposed Glen Miller Birthplace Society Museum in Clarinda, Iowa, opens.
Toward that end, the Glenn Miller Birthplace Society is receiving a loan guarantee of $120,000 and a grant of $90,000 from the U.S. Department of Agriculture Office of Rural Development, Sen. Chuck Grassley, R-Iowa, announced.
The project will involve the purchase of equipment for the new museum including theater seating, display cabinets, sound and AV equipment and more.
“This funding will help construct a museum in Clarinda to honor a selfless Iowan who placed his love for his country above all else,” Grassley said.
The Community Facilities Guaranteed Loan Program provides government-backed credit enhancement to private lenders seeking to finance community-based public facilities. It provides grants to in rural areas and towns of up to 20,000.
