Science.D.Visions Sells 3DEqualizer4 Matchmove Software Site Licenses to Double Negative Studios

Famous London and Singapore-based Visual Effects Studio Grows; Plans to Increase Matchmove Artist Group with New Seats of 3DEqualizer4

Dortmund, GERMANY, March 26st 2010—

Science.D.Visions

today announced that it has recently sold two site licenses of its 3DEqualizer4 matchmoving software to

Double Negative

Visual Effects studio, based in London, UK. Double Negative is globally renowned for its visual effects and post production work on films like; 2012, Sherlock Holmes, Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince, and coming soon, Iron Man 2, Prince of Persia: Sands of Time and more. The two 3DEqualizer4 site licenses, which are scalable to accommodate simultaneous usage on every workstation for the nearly 800-strong employee base at Double Negative, will play a vital role in the London and Singapore offices.

This latest 3DEqualizer two site license acquisition supports the plans Double Negative has to equip both its London and Singapore offices to realize its growth objective of hiring up to 100 new matchmoving technical directors (TDs) and artists throughout 2010. Double Negative studios has been a customer and partner of Science.D.Visions since 1998 (from their very first founding year), and have increasingly added new licenses each year as the company has grown.

Used extensively in nine of the past 12 Academy Award®-winners for Best Visual Effects since 1998 in visually rich films like Gladiator, The Lord of the Rings, and this year’s AVATAR—3DEqualizer is an integral part of what brings together complex camera shots, stereoscopic matchmoving requirements, and 3D computer generated imagery (CGI) elements. The power and versatility of 3DEqualizer was itself recognized for an Academy Award® for Technical Achievement in 2002. 3DEqualizer4 software offers visual effects artists and technical directors (TD’s) a substantially faster workflow that generates extremely precise matchmoving results on multiple operating platforms including Windows, Mac OS X, and Linux.

“3DEqualizer continues to be an extremely powerful matchmove solution that delivers solid camera solves, especially when limited tracking data is available through a shot. The improved pattern tracker in 3DEqualizer4 is fantastic, as are the other enhanced features in this new version, said Drew Collins, Matchmove Supervisor at Double Negative.
