Adobe Previews Flash Media Server 3 at IBC

IBC 2007, AMSTERDAM — Sept. 6, 2007 — Adobe Systems Incorporated (Nasdaq:ADBE) today unveiled new features that will headline the upcoming release of Adobe® Flash® Media Server 3. This major new release will offer the unique combination of traditional streaming media capabilities and a flexible environment for creating and delivering interactive social media applications to the broadest possible audience. Scheduled to ship in the first quarter of 2008, customers can expect nearly double the previous performance, as well as new live event support, industry-standard H.264 video codec and AAC+ audio codec support, and increased protection for streamed media. SAN JOSE, Calif. — Sept. 6, 2007 — Cisco® and Adobe® Systems Incorporated (Nasdaq: ADBE) today announced that the Cisco Content Delivery System (CDS) will be the first system of its type to natively support Adobe Flash® streaming capabilities, in addition to traditional progressive delivery. Service providers and organizations of all types using the Cisco CDS will be able to deliver Adobe Flash Player compatible video to PCs, and TVs using Adobe Flash streaming capabilities, accelerating the Cisco CDS‘ ability to deliver “any stream to any screen.” This solution will include the recently announced Adobe Flash® Media Server 3 software (see separate release). more…
