JWT NY and Director Jack Cole of Pulse Films London tapped Absolute and Lead Flame Artist Daniel Morris to send this message with a hilarious :30 promoting the secret flavor of Stride Gum’s new Mega Mystery brand. The spot opens with an enthusiastic young man sitting before his webcam, sending an anxious message to the outer world proclaiming that he had decoded Stride’s new flavor. Just as he is about to reveal the secret, however, the hapless gum-chewer is interrupted with a trio of ostrich-riding, business suit-wearing jockeys bursting through his walls to intimidate him into silence, sending one of the giant birds to peck him in the chest. The spot ends with an ominous warning to other would-be spoilers: “Don’t reveal the secret flavor of new Stride Mega Mystery! Or we’ll find you.” more

The drink is there beside the runway of an edgy fashion show, on the set of an explosive outdoor movie shoot, in the limo of an actress preparing to take to the red carpet, and in the painting of an expansive mural in a neighborhood. more

Brickyard VFX Puts Toyota NASCAR Campaign Into Overdrive

tysg0001h_01.jpgArtist owned-and-operated bi-coastal effects boutique Brickyard VFX recently created CG cars that appear alongside live-action counterparts and added graphics to other live action cars in a new NASCAR-themed ad campaign for Toyota Racing that spans TV, print and the web.

Titled “Sponsafier,� the campaign invites NASCAR fans to get involved with the season and drivers by ‘sponsifying’ a Toyota Racing car. A series of three hilarious :30 TV spots (and one :60 combined version) introduces the concept and drives fans to the ToyotarRacing.com website, where they can design a custom skin for the race-version Toyota Camry that could earn them a trip to a NASCAR all-star race. more

RABBIT SPINS CENSUS PITCH FOR DRAFT FCB

Rabbit Director Trevor McMahan, working through Draft FCB, just finished an amusing and technically challenging :30 promoting this year’s US Census.

Biffle-de-Sac opens on a man watering his lawn in a tranquil suburban cul-de-sac. The peaceful scene is soon disrupted, however, as NASCAR driver Greg Biffle squeals onto the scene in his number 16 car and begins spinning in rubber-pealing circles. As his Ford flies through its epic brodie and the neighbors smile and wave, Biffle delivers a rundown of all the reasons every US citizen should complete the 2010 census. more

RIDEOUT REVEALS GREATER SELF FOR DIAGEO’S DIMPLE SCOTCH WHISKEY

Working via production studio Green Olive Films, Director Stuart Rideout, (repped stateside by Crossroads and in the UK by RSA) just finished a beautiful spot promoting Diageo’s Dimple blended scotch whiskey. The :30, out of Leo Burnett Greece, is a seamless blend of bold narrative and striking visual imagery. Bridge features a sequence of urban panoramas populated with confident men surveying the land. “Once giants lived on earth,” the voiceover proclaims as the men rule over rapt crowds, imagine modern skyscraper clusters reigning over antiquated cityscapes, or gather in urbane conversation. The imagery perfectly syncs with the ongoing narrative: “I say they still exist, inside some men; men of giant hearts, giant will, giant dreams; perhaps men like you# Reveal your greater self.” more
