Phil Gauvin of Pyro/Fx Entertainment used the Viper NT for a four-day shoot at Mystic, Connecticut where the Charles Morgan, the world‘s last wooden whaler, is docked in the celebrated Mystic Seaport. “We had very little time to recreate smoke in a replica of the try-works, the brick-faced oven where whale blubber was boiled in pots,” he explains. “Despite some wind dispersing the smoke, the Viper was able to refill the area quickly. And we were able to match the look of footage we had from 1916.” more
