Against fierce competition and decided by a judging panel comprising the communications technology industry’s elite, Norway’s projectiondesign won Manufacturer of the Year and Projection or Display Product of the Year for their F35 wqxga projector.

The prestigious AV Awards ceremony was held in front of 800 of the industry’s guests at a ceremony on Friday, 30 September 2011 at the Hilton Park Lane, London.

A result of closer partner cooperation is a resolution and electronics upgrade to encompass SXGA+ resolution in the flagship F82 series three-chip DLP® projector. The model is already available in WUXGA and 1080p resolutions, meeting the requirements for widescreen video, computer and data centric imaging, but adding SXGA+ has been a specific requirement for some key application areas.

Robe ROBIN moving lights and CitySkape Xtremes from Robe’s LED range were at the heart of a glamorous lighting scheme created by LD Nick Jevons of Electric Fly Productions for leading cosmetics brand Rimmel in London’s iconic Battersea Power Station.

Staged on the eve of London Fashion Week, it celebrated 10 years of collaboration between supermodel Kate Moss and Rimmel, together with the launch of Rimmel’s new ‘London Lipstick Collection by Kate’.

Electric Fly was working for production company Iris Experience, for whom they regularly provide visual design and technical production services. All the lighting equipment was supplied by Blackburn based HSL.

Kate Moss arrived – in true rock ‘n’ roll style – by helicopter.

ReaLED technology passes the most stringent aviation industry tests ‘with flying colours’

In one of the most exciting and prestigious applications of LED technology to date, and after successfully completing a rigorous trial period, the FL32 solid-state ReaLED™ DLP® projector from projectiondesign® has been approved for use in Level D full-flight simulators by British Airways.

The airline took delivery of three FL32’s in May of this year after it was recommended by its systems integration partner RSI Visual Systems. Michael Freeman, managing director of RSI takes up the story:
