ProTrack TV is a comprehensive, expandable and affordable broadcast management solution that interconnects Traffic, Scheduling, Sales, Engineering and IT departments. It serves as the centralized unifying element within the broadcast operation and integrates seamlessly with existing infrastructure to optimize workflow while preserving existing investments. Automation Integration
Incorporating Automation Integration into the widely used ProTrack TV broadcast management establishes a direct link between traffic and third party play-to-air automation solutions. It offers streamlined workflow and eliminates redundancy across departments. As a pioneer in delivering the most extensive range of bi-directional BXF integration to automation, Myers defines the lines of responsibility and helps to eliminate labor-intensive tasks to keep traffic and master control in-sync.

ProTrack On-Demand
The On-Demand Module for ProTrack TV’s broadcast management solution enables media facilities to build, schedule, track and publish program and sales packages. It also provides transcode requests for station-defined distribution platforms and needs, such as Mobile, Internet, Cable, DVD and more. Whether a single or multi-channel broadcaster, distributing in a linear and/or non-linear format, ProTrack TV helps close-the-loop between systems and departments so workflow can really roll!

XL Video Supplies Biffy Clyro ‘Opposites’ UK Arena tour

XL Video supplied full video production – including 457 tiles of Pixled F12 LED, PPU / cameras, Catalyst media servers and crew for the recent UK arena leg of Biffy Clyro’s ‘Opposites’ world tour.

The Ayrshire rockers’ sixth studio album has been their first to take the Number One slot creating huge excitement! The sold out tour featured a fabulous set created by show designer / director Misty Buckley, an intricate tree-like structure at first glance which at second squint could morph into of a pair of lungs, complete with the arterial / branch complexity of both structures. This set piece also featured integral video elements.
It was beautifully combined with a lighting design by Oli Metcalfe and live camera direction by Richard Shipman to form a colourful and interesting visual aesthetic and backdrop to the band’s incendiary performances which earned rave reviews!
XL’s Project Manager Phil Mercer comments, “It was great to be working with The Production Office on this tour and with Production Manager Paddy Hocken who brought many fresh and invigorating ideas to the mix. The band have grown steadily, and with the success of ‘Opposites’, the tour really took on a life of its own!”
XL has supplied several Biffy Clyro tours in the past, but this is by far the largest and most comprehensive in terms of production.
The large upstage LED screen measured 18.5 metres wide by 7.8 metres high and displayed both playback footage and the IMAG mix.
In addition to this, ensconced in the set – built by Steel Monkey – was a central column of 10 x F12 tiles in the spine of the tree which also featured two sweeping staircases for entrances / exits to the platform.
A riser surround and staircase forming the base of the tree was also fitted with internal F12 tiles.
XL supplied four Sony HXC-100 HD camera channels which were fed into the PPU built around a Panasonic HS450 mixer / switcher. Two cameras were stationed at FOH long throw lenses, and the other two were in the pit with HJ22 wide angle lenses.
Shipman also used a Thundering Jacks’ Video Dust system for additional effects.
In addition to these, four Bradley CamBall2 robo-cams were dotted around the stage, (operated by Paul Maddock-Jones) plus four Bradley HD10 mini-cams, all of which were fed into Shipman’s mix.
For the playback footage – produced by Lydia Baker at Screen Light Design – XL supplied two Catalyst media servers which were triggered by Lighting Director Richard Larkum’s Road Hog Full Boar lighting console.
Completing XL’s crew were engineer Dean Ruffy, crew Chief Roger Nelson and LED / Camera Technician Iain Rendell. Jack Banks and Robin Haddow were brought in to assist with the Catalyst programming during production rehearsals at LH2 in London ahead of the tour starting.
Audio equipment was supplied by Skan and lighting by Neg Earth, like XL Video both companies have been involved in Biffy Clyro’s live work for some time.

“Outstanding Videogame Promotional Trailer” Award Goes to BUSTER for Production of “Just Dance 4″ Trailer

Los Angeles, CA, April 18, 2013 — Conceptual design studio Buster is the winner of the “Outstanding Promotional Trailer” Award presented during the 2013 Game Marketing Awards yesterday in San Francisco. Buster was honored for its work on the production of the worldwide promotional trailer behind Ubisoft’s “Just Dance 4″ videogame. The work involved both live action production and motion graphics. Brad Roth and Mark Feldstein, principals of Stun Creative, the parent company of Buster, made the announcement.
.
The Game Marketing Awards (GMA), owned by IDG World Expo and the first U.S. program established to honor the finest work created by game marketing professionals, were announced at a special ceremony immediately following the 2013 Game Marketing Summit (GMS) on April 17 in San Francisco at the Yerba Buena Center for the Arts. The GMAs celebrate the best practices in marketing, promotion and advertising for the video game and interactive entertainment community.
.
To view Buster’s award winning trailer, please see: http://busterdesign.tv/client/post/Ubisoft_JD4/052912/JD4%202.0%2052912_URL.mov
.
The “Just Dance 4” trailer announced the worldwide release in 2012 of the 4th iteration of the best-selling video game franchise from Ubisoft. The “Just Dance” franchise is the number one selling dance game brand – an interesting social phenomenon because the real action of this video game genre is inside the room among the dancers/players – as opposed to most video games, where the key action is on the screen. “Just Dance” is a social catalyst, and Ubisoft wanted to express how the newest version of the game truly creates the world’s best party.
.
Said Jonas Morganstein, Buster’s Chief Creative Officer, Buster Design, “Our concept was to create one continuous party sequence, thus illustrating how ‘Just Dance 4′ creates the world’s best party. The sequence seamlessly takes the viewer from location to location with everyone joining in on the fun. We even brought the avatar coaches out of the video game and into the real world—joining in as part of the continuous dance sequence. This trailer was a great showpiece for our Creative Director, Joel Lava. He directed the live action, as well as overseeing the animation and compositing.”
.
The “Good Feeling” (Flo Rida) track is one of the songs on the “Just Dance 4″ playlist – the trailer features a cameo from Flo Rida. Additional cameo ap-pearances within the “Just Dance 4″ trailer include many E-lebrities with multiple million followers on Youtube:
.
• Harley — From Epic Meal Time, who wields a gigantic sandwich
• D-trix – A Judge from “So You Think You Can Dance”
• Lindsey Stomp – The World’s only dancing violinist
• Shane Dawson – Pop culture comedian
• Cimorelli Sisters – Seven acapella sisters
.
Buster also released translated versions of the “Just Dance 4” promotional trailer for multiple regions to support the 2012 worldwide release of the game. These regions included the U.S., UK, France, Spain, Austraila, Germany, Italy, Netherlands and Russia.

grandMA2 Locks and Reloads with Miranda Lambert and Dierks Bentley National Tour

Country artists Miranda Lambert and Dierks Bentley have Locked and Reloaded and grandMA2s along for the ride. Their 33-show national Locked and Reloaded Tour uses two grandMA2 light consoles to control about a hundred moving lights on a complex, multi-level set. A.C.T Lighting is the exclusive distributor for MA Lighting in North America.

“We wanted the production design to give us the opportunity to create different moods,” says Chris Lisle, Nashville-based production designer for the tour. “We have a lot of moving pieces. There’s a big wall of light for punch for the rock sets and some circular trusses for the moodier songs.”

Lisle had wanted to use grandMA2s “for years,” and programmer Scott Chmielewski suggested he try them for the tour. “It’s a very user friendly and functional console, yet it does so much,” says Lisle. “It’s very deep; it has so many layers, and you can get really detailed with it. One of the things I love is its ease of networking. I’ve had problems with that on other consoles.

“The grandMA2s effects engine is also amazing,” he adds. “There are so many things you can do so easily. It’s mind blowing! I had no idea we could do so many effects so simply.”

Lisle notes that Chimeleski uses the consoles for DMX merging. “There are so many functions, and some of the macros we’ve created are amazing. You can create the console you want, lay it out the way you need it to be. It was a great opportunity for me to be able to sit down with a programmer like Scott who knows the board so well. It was super easy to learn, but there’s so much more I can learn going forward.”

Lisle is impressed with the grandMA2s performance and robustness on the Locked and Reloaded Tour. “It’s a fantastic piece of equipment that’s also very reliable,” he attests.
