Createasphere’s Executive Marketplace for Houses of Worship Wraps Two Days of Professional Connection

Congregation Leaders Meet Industry Experts in Chicago

(Burbank, CA) Createasphere‘s Executive Marketplace concluded two days of purchasing and business networking for Houses of Worship (HoW) at the Embassy Suites Chicago-O’Hare Rosemont on July19th, following a similar event in Los Angeles in June. This was the Executive Marketplace’s successful second year, and plans for 2013 will be confirmed soon.

The goal of Createasphere’s Executive Marketplace is to provide a unique opportunity for representatives from congregations around the country to meet with executives from leading technology companies in prescheduled, face-to-face meetings that allow them to explore their technical needs and discuss purchases in an unhurried, stress-free environment.

This invitation-only event brought together industry-leading companies including Canon, JVC, CSD Group, Ensemble Designs, Harris, LensProToGo, QSC, VizRT and Wybron. In addition to overall educational opportunities, added seminar sessions covered such topics as Common Misconceptions in Audio and Selecting the RIGHT Camera for Your Ministry.

Feedback from the delegates and sponsors alike was extremely positive. Thom Lich from Denver’s Mile Hi Church said, “Thank you for putting on such a cool event, it was informative even [in] areas that I had not intended to gather information, so that was superb!” And Tom Shelburne from Vizrt noted, “It’s nice to sit down with guaranteed appointments and establish a relationship – and a rapport – that will hopefully carry on after these meetings.”

Dates and locations for the 2013 Executive Marketplace for Houses of Worship will be announced shortly. More information can be found by visiting www.createasphere.com, or by calling 818.842.6611.

The Camera Calibrator offers an integrated solution to match 3D camera images to a 3D environment – ideal for architects and matte artists. The Motion Camera, Morph Camera and Camera Composition Helper quickly frame a 3D scene following well-established composition rules. The Camera Focus Picker allows users to interactively set focal distances.

    Integration

Seamless integration with The Foundry’s NUKE compositing application allows direct export to a NUKE project with multi-pass layers, including full support for OpenEXR and FBX files. The Photoshop Extended exchange plug-in enables opening and manipulating CINEMA 4D scenes into a Photoshop 3D layer. Enhanced integration with After Effects brings new levels of performance to directly import and export native CINEMA 4D files.

rp& Takes Acura on a Wild Ride

Acura’s all-new ILX compact luxury sedan continues its debut with a novel interactive virtual test drive application integrated into Facebook. The app, created by Acura’s long-time agency of record, rp&, allows potential ILX drivers to take a spin through the African jungle, dinosaur-filled forest, and an alien-infested coastline, among other far-out locales.

Joyride

The robust app taps the user’s webcam or an uploaded photo and superimposes an image of the user in the driver’s seat of an ILX. As the car zooms along, an adventure envelops the surrounding terrain, sometimes bleeding into the vehicle itself. In the alien scene, a swarm of flying saucers buzzes about and shoots death rays from above, even as one of the invaders materializes in the ILX’s passenger seat. Users can share it with their Facebook friends and Twitter followers.

Lightware Introduces MODEX Family of Modular Signal Extenders

The Modular Extender (MODEX) family of external signal extender with modular capabilities, makes its debut from Lightware U.S.A., the US distributor for Budapest-based Lightware Visual Engineering products. The new products work in tandem with Lightware’s new 25G Hybrid line of digital matrix switchers or act as standalone extenders offering great flexibility to users who need to transport digital and analog video, audio or data signals over a single Cat5/6/7 cable or fiber.

“MODEX is believed to be the first product family of its kind,” says Blake Dudash in sales and marketing. “It supports AV and broadcast-industry formats with a full range of modular transmitters and receivers which interface with Lightware’s new 25G line or function as standalone devices.”

MODEX eliminates the need to invest in discrete units for different types of connections, he notes. “Previously, you’d have to buy a transmitter and receiver (TX/RX) to send DVI, Display Port, HDMI 1.4, DVI-DL, VGA or 3GSDI over one fiber or CatX; each format requires its own TX/RX pair. Now we can use one MODEX TX/RX pair and send any and all of today’s, and tomorrow’s, video connection types. Instead we just switch out the connection type module in the Transmitter or Receiver.”

To customize MODEX users choose a media core (single or duplex fiber or CAT5/6/7 twisted pair cable), select one or two video and audio modules (analog VGA, Interlaced Composite Video, DVI, dual-link DVI, HDMI 1.4 with 3D, SDI, 3G-SDI and Displayport 1.1 or 1.2) and choose up to four interface modules for ethernet, control or optional audio. MODEX is then ready to use.

The technology built into the MODEX family breaks many standard limitations allowing 60-meter DVI cable compensation on inputs; advanced EDID management; pixel-accurate reclocking; LAN, RS-232, RS-422 and USB control; fiber cable powering and more.

MODEX comes in 1/2 rack width and full rack width RU frames. The full rack width extender has the bigger media core, which allows two video and audio modules and four interface modules. The front panel has an additional 10/100/1000 Mbps ethernet port and USB KVM connectors. The half-rack width extender has the same functionality but allows one video and audio module and two interface modules; its front panel has an additional 10/100 Mbps ethernet port and USB KVM connectors. Both size frames may be either a video transmitter or receiver depending on the installed video and audio module.

“MODEX’s modularity is the key concept for all kinds of users – permanent installations, rental and staging, broadcast,” says Dudash. “Users can easily swap out connection modules as needed for real mix-and-match applications.”

MODEX is expected to be available this fall following the release of the Lightware 25G line.
