John Bailey, ASC received the Kodak Mentorship Award this past weekend in recognition of his dedication to educate the next generation of filmmakers in the art and craft of cinematography throughout his professional career and personal endeavors. The honor was presented to Bailey during the International Cinematographers Guild’s honorees luncheon on September 23, celebrating the Emerging Cinematographer Awards winners.

Bailey earned his first narrative credit in 1978 and has subsequently compiled more than 70 cinematography credits for such memorable films as American Gigolo, Ordinary People, The Big Chill, Silverado, The Accidental Tourist, Groundhog Day, In The Line of Fire, As Good As It Gets, Incident at Loch Ness, Brief Interviews with Hideous Men, The Greatest, and more

Scott of EFILM. The Creativity and Innovation Award seeks to recognize companies and individuals who have demonstrated excellence in post production, whether that be in creative storytelling and/or technical innovation. Enhanced LightCue DMX Recorder Now Available From Alcorn McBride

Alcorn McBride is now shipping LightCue(tm) with Ethernet, an enhanced version of the popular LightCue model. The new LightCue with Ethernet replaces expensive lighting consoles in permanent installations by capturing the DMX data and playing it back exactly the same way every time. Lighting designers can program their lighting using their favorite DMX lighting console, record into the LightCue with Ethernet and then take the console away.

LightCue with Ethernet handles up to 40 pile-on’s and stores at least 100 hours of DMX data. The unit operates via front-panel push-buttons, SMPTE timecode, RS-232, Ethernet or contact closure/voltage inputs. Users can create a schedule to trigger playback using the built in real-time clock and examine or edit the recorded DMX data with included cue management software.
