Leading International Edit House Cut+Run Opens In Asia

The continued growth and success of international offline edit house Cut+Run is cemented by the launch of its new editing facility in Hong Kong, the hub of Asia. Cut+Run owner, Steve Gandolfi says: “Our next incredible journey begins, in such an amazing region within an exploding market.”

With a presence in the ever growing and creative Asian market for the last two years, James Tomkinson (Managing Director, Cut+Run London) notes the increase in, and demand for, creative editors in the region.

“This demand is twofold, firstly more western directors are now shooting in Asia and are expecting the same excellence there as they receive from Cut+Run in London, New York & LA. Equally exciting though is that demand is also coming from creative productions in the region wanting our skills and services,” says Tomkinson.

As resident editor Chris Szymanski describes: “Asia is a very exciting place to be right now” and continues: “There are amazing opportunities out here allowing for the team to really leave a mark. There is a great deal of enthusiasm and energy around the work and so this new set up will be welcomed with open arms.”

The Asian market is tremendously varied which offers up a vast diversity of work for Cut + Run’s editors.
As senior editor Nick emphasizes, “Most of the business at the moment is coming from Shanghai and Beijing, that said we are doing more and more for Manila and even India, we have also have worked with quite a few Australian directors as it is very easy for us to service Australian jobs.”

The new facility has a number of resident British editors, who work in accordance with company’s borderless philosophy whereby any of Cut + Run’s editors can work in any of its offices worldwide or on location.
