Rapid Adoption of Vaddio HD-20 Cameras Prompts AV/Broadcast Equipment Compatibility Enhancements

MINNEAPOLIS, MN (July 18, 2011) – Vaddio announces enhanced features to the HD-20 PTZ camera that include additional resolutions, improved communication speed and an additional color space option for increased compatibility with 3rd-party video equipment.

“Due to the overwhelming demand and positive response for the HD-20 cameras, our dealers and integrators have been clamoring for us to add more legacy support for older AV and broadcast video standards,” explained Rob Sheeley, President of Vaddio. “By adding more video resolutions and sRGB support we now give our dealers and integrators the ability to integrate the HD-20 PTZ cameras into more applications and projects.”

STORY’s Blair Hayes Pitches a Tent for Coleman

STORY’s Blair Hayes has directed a new spot for The Coleman Company and Doner Advertising that evokes memories of camping through “vintage” footage of people having fun in the great outdoors.
Introducing Coleman’s new Instant Tent, the spot, titled Not All Of It, builds on a series of earlier ads that were composed from home movies and old photographs submitted by campers. The new ad uses some of the same footage, but mixes in new footage, shot by Hayes, and cleverly designed to look like decades old Super 8 material. The new footage shows people setting up the Instant Tent and carousing around a campsite. more

Thor Takes an Urban Safari with Škoda

LOS ANGELES— Thor, who is represented in the U.S. by Madheart, has directed a new spot for Czech car maker Škoda and Leagas Delaney, Hamburg, in which a couple goes on a fantastic drive through an urban jungle. The spot, produced by Germany’s TempoMedia with production support in Madrid from The Mamma Team, shows the couple behind the wheel of a Yeti on a city street. When the woman presses the car’s off-road button, the environment around them is magically transformed with a waterfall cascading down the side of a building, tropical birds filling the air and ghostly elephants blocking a street. Another touch of the button makes the wild apparitions disappear. more

ClickFire Media Pits Man Vs. Food


ClickFire Media recently designed their first iOS game, based on the popular Travel Channel show, Man Vs. Food which is now live in the Apple AppStore for iPhone and iPad and available on the Android platform.

ClickFire Media was initially approached about the project by the Scripps Network which handles various channels including The Travel Channel. Senior Interactive Producer Matt DeSimone notes, “They wanted to develop an app for their hit Travel Channel show, Man Vs. Food,” he explains. “And they felt that with our experience and interactive development and approach, and especially our humor and what we bring to the table, we would be an ideal partner in developing the app.”

Beast Helps Febreze Conjure Up a Sweet Scent

Beast, one of the nation’s top editorial facilities, recently completed work on a campaign for Febreze via agency Grey New York. The campaign involves spraying disgusting, smelly environments with Febreze and bringing in unsuspecting blindfolded people off the street and asking them to participate in a scent/fragrance experiment. Hilarity ensues when the blindfolds come off and the people realize where they truly are.

Two spots, “Hotel” and “Restaurant,” received Film Lions Silver Awards and “The Breathe Happy Social Experiment” came away with a Promo & Activation Bronze Award. HARMAN’s Studer Broadcast Academy Rolls On With Dates in New York and Washington D.C.

NORTHRIDGE, California — After a successful first week of educational sessions and product demonstrations, HARMAN’s Studer Broadcast Academy continues with dates this week in the New York and Washington D.C. areas. The SBA truck will be at the Meadowlands in East Rutherford, New Jersey on Monday, July 18 through Wednesday, July 20, and at Communications Engineering in Washington D.C. on Thursday, July 21 and Friday, July 22.

Last week included SBA dates in Cincinnati, Columbus, Pittsburgh and Philadelphia. The Broadcast Academy sessions include hands-on training for Studer’s Vista consoles as part of broadcast certification modules that will provide engineers with proof of efficiency with the Vista line. In addition, the Open House sessions offer product demonstrations, with no requirement to pursue certification.
