America’s Catholic Television Network, CatholicTV®, which provides inspirational programming across the United States, is upgrading its studios and operations facility in Watertown, MA to full high-definition (HD) capabilities with new production technologies from Grass Valley™.

The CatholicTV Network has purchased a new Grass Valley Kayenne™ HD Video Production Center, seven Grass Valley LDK 8000 Elite Series HD cameras with new 3G Fiber Transmission systems, and a variety of GeckoFlex™ signal processing modules in support of its existing Trinix router. The LDK 8000 Elite HD cameras are the first purchased by a major studio in the city of Boston and are key to the new project which was designed by David Haralambou of By Request Communications, Inc. (in Marlborough, MA.).

Bright Technologies Expands Development Team With New Quality Assurance Engineer

Bright Technologies, Inc., developer of advanced technology for shared media, has appointed Ryan Spano as Software Quality Assurance Engineer. Spano will manage a range of testing and performance analysis procedures to ensure all Bright products are manufactured and tested to the highest standards. He will also undertake all documentation procedures.

Spano began his career at MountainGate Data Systems when digital media file management technology was still in its early days. More recently, he has managed product testing and verification processes in the areas of network attached storage systems and file sharing software. He is also an experienced technical writer, having authored products manuals, test procedures and assembly instructions for end users and manufacturers.
