ABC & TaunusFilm Joins KODAK IMAGECARE Program

ROCHESTER, NY—ABC & TaunusFilm Kopierwerk GmbH in Wiesbaden, Germany, recently became the 51st member of the KODAK IMAGECARE Program. Kodak began this quality program for film laboratories in 1996, and it is now active in 31 countries worldwide.

“Film has been our core business for over 60 years – and will remain so in the future,” says Thomas Lang, managing director of ABC & TaunusFilm. “The KODAK IMAGECARE Program certifies our color negative process and shows our commitment to the highest possible image quality.”

ABC & TaunusFilm Kopierwerk GmbH in Wiesbaden has experienced and dedicated employees who provide support to numerous television and feature film productions, archives and film schools. As part of daily production-related services ABC & Taunus Film offers high-quality negative processing and dailies in Super 16 and 35 mm formats – both in color and in black and white. On telecine transfers and recording, they work closely with several partners.

In addition, ABC & Taunus Film provides services to television commercial campaigns and other ongoing productions. They also offer reprinting services for the preservation of older/historical films originally made using more volatile, nitrate-based film materials. ABC & TaunusFilm also has an Oxberry CineScan 6400 in 3K resolution with a wetgate option available to customers.

In an effort to develop new restoration methods for film and sound, the lab also takes part in research projects conducted by the University of Applied Sciences in Wiesbaden, and provides long-term storage of archive materials for the broadcasting stations.

“The KODAK IMAGECARE Program is tailor-made for our customers,” says Dieter Krinke, technical manager at Kodak Entertainment Imaging-Germany, Austria, Switzerland and the Nordic Cluster. “This proven program helps deliver maximum image quality and consistency and sets standards that benefit the entire industry.”
