WSYR-TV LAUNCHES LOCAL HD NEWS WITH JVC PROHD CAMERAS

WAYNE, NJ – JVC Professional Products Company today announced that WSYR-TV NewsChannel 9, the ABC affiliate for Syracuse, N.Y. (DMA #82), launched its local news broadcasts in high definition on Jan. 29 using JVC ProHD cameras in its studio and for ENG work. The new JVC cameras were part of a major overhaul for the Newport Television station that included the construction of a new control room, as well as new sets and a revamped studio lighting system in its studio.

Hollywood, Calif. — April 8, 2011. Utilizing the long-anticipated IIF-ACES workflow in its first real-world application, Encore colorist Pankaj Bajpai put the workflow to the test on the popular FX series, “Justified,” shot by Francis Kenny, ASC.

The IFF-ACES workflow maximizes the color gamut and latitude achievable with an ever-improving assortment of digital imaging sensors while establishing much-needed industry standards for grading technology for television programming.
