WOODBURY, NEW YORK – Germantown Community Television recently installed four new Hitachi SK-HD1000 multi-format HDTV studio cameras in an effort to improve picture quality and lay the groundwork for an eventual transition to high-definition. Known as GHS-TV, Germantown Community Television is based at Germantown High School in Germantown, TN, a suburb of Memphis.

The studio facility supports the high school’s Production Workshop program, which teaches basic and advanced broadcast television skills. As part of the upgrade, the arena features three new Sony HSC300K cameras paired with Fujinon lenses: the HA23X7.6BERM Premier Series HD ENG-style telephoto, XA50X9.5BESM HD box-style telephoto with 2X extender, and XA76X9.3BESM HD telephoto.

Cameras are placed at various points around the venue to provide a total stadium experience.
