The Van Nuys Production Facility Adds Flexibility with the Addition of a New Main Street/Urban Backlot

Van Nuys, CA (December 7, 2010) – As a full-service service, boutique production facility, Avenue Six Studios was purpose-built to host feature film productions, television shows, music video productions, reality shows and commercial shoots. During the course of the studio’s growth over the past few years, numerous location scouts and production designers have suggested that a permanent, Main Street backlot be added to the studio’s multiple stages and green screen capabilities.

Avenue Six Studios Announces the opening of their New York Inspired Main Street Backlot and has brought New York City to Los Angeles. The permanent New York City style Main Street set on the facility’s backlot is now complete, primed and ready for “ACTION.”

Avenue Six Studios has announced the grand-opening of Main Street, Avenue Six style. In response to an extremely hectic shooting season and numerous requests from production managers in film and television, Avenue Six has constructed this New York influenced urban Main Street set on the Van Nuys based studio’s backlot. The addition of the outdoor setting allows for even more flexibility for any shoot, be it a desire for a SOHO style loft setting or middle America neighborhood.

Complete with sidewalks, dog friendly curbs, foliage, functioning doorways, stairways, “stoops,” interior/exterior lighting, and extensive true to scale two and a half story facades, the new Avenue Six Main Street location is the perfect location for any movie, film or video production manager in search of an authentic city-scape or urban look. Studio Head Paul Reitzin noted, “Our attention to detail on this new Avenue Six Main Street location has been a focal point of the project. We think we have been precise on every level of construction in the execution of our vision.”

The extremely life-like outdoor set is a welcome addition to the Avenue Six Studios complex which features unique corporate office sets including an amazing conference room, three stages including a 6,000 foot east stage, a fully functioning kitchen, green screen and semi permanent walls, perfect for multiple scenes during a single shoot. The multiple sets and soundstages have individual green rooms and make-up rooms. Additionally, Avenue Six features in-house lighting facilities including translights, providing everything needed for any interior and/or exterior shoot. With 24 hour access and sufficient parking for the largest of crews, Avenue Six competes with the largest of studios for convenience and location.
