Sennheiser Helps Light the Spirit of the Season as Crowds Gather for Tree Lighting in Rockefeller Center

New York – November 29, 2010: Tomorrow evening, thousands of people will gather at Rockefeller Plaza for the annual Tree Lighting Ceremony. The classic event, which has been an annual tradition since 1933, will feature live performances by Susan Boyle, Charice and many others. Wireless First, a Mount Vernon, NY-based production specialist, has chosen Sennheiser to provide the wireless infrastructure for the event for the ninth consecutive year. The event will appear on local and national prime-time television, broadcasting to millions of people.

Aside from the obvious logistical challenges of mounting and decorating a giant Norwegian Spruce with 30,000 environmentally friendly LED lights, Rockefeller Center presents mammoth Radio Frequency (RF) challenges to wireless operators. Rockefeller Plaza is in extremely close proximity to Radio City Music Hall and most of the major television broadcast networks, presenting a significant challenge that can only be overcome by superior wireless equipment.

series of two-part, cross-platform spots for Childsavers, a non-profit dedicated to helping children with developmental and emotional issues.

“The idea was very innovative,â€? notes Studio 108 director, Jack Hartmann. “The first component is a TV spot that sets up a story about a child facing a specific challenge – such as dealing with the loss of a parent, abuse, etc. Then, at the end of the TV spot the viewer is prompted to go to childsavers.org to see the rest of the story. The long-form website spot opens with the TV commercial, and then continues in the same documentary style – following the child’s progress and their interaction with Childsavers as the organization helps them get their lives back on track.

Nice Shoes Globe Trots with UPS for Ogilvy

Nice Shoes, working in collaboration with Gartner Productions via Ogilvy & Mather, handled post and effects on a recent global UPS campaign. Marking Ogilvy’s first effort for UPS, and Nice Shoes’ extremely early involvement in the production process, the campaign is a total departure from previous UPS advertising.

The vibrant spots, a combination of live-action, and animation/motion graphics courtesy of Go Robot!, highlight the shipping giant’s outstanding global logistics including a chipper song celebrating the subject. The campaign’s centerpiece is an upbeat :60 crafted in Chinese, Spanish, and American and British English versions. While the exact footage varies from one spot to the next to incorporate specific cultural elements, the basic setup is the same: from an airport tarmac to soaring cities to bustling factories, the spot goes on a fantastic worldwide journey, showing a UPS deliveryman hustling through the skies, the waterways and the streets more
