COX MEDIA GROUP COUNTS ON DIAQUEST QUEMANAGER FOR EFFICIENT GRAPHICS ORDER SYSTEM IN NEWSROOMS

EMERYVILLE, CALIF. – Diaquest Products, a software development firm with a focus on the video and film industries, today announced that Cox Media Group (CMG) has adopted QueManager, a new graphics order management system (OMS) for Apple Final Cut Server 1.5 newsroom systems, to replace its Proximity Artbox installations. The new software add-on, which can be integrated with the station group’s Avid iNews newsroom computer systems and Deko graphics systems, provides an efficient workflow for managing over-the-shoulder and other broadcast graphics.

U.S. SENATE RECORDING STUDIO UPGRADES SENATORIAL VIDEO TELECONFERENCING CAPABILITIES WITH 18 HITACHI CAMERAS

WOODBURY, NEW YORK –The U.S. Senate Recording Studio, the in-house audio/video service provider for the U.S. Senate, ordered 18 new Hitachi DK-H32 720p/60p compact HDTV camera heads in the summer of 2010 as part of an effort to upgrade the video teleconferencing capabilities within U.S Senator’s offices.

This recent order supplements two previous orders—for 38 DK-H32 cameras acquired between 2007 and 2010; and 18 DK-H31 HDTV cameras acquired between 2006-2007—bringing the total complement of Hitachi 720p/60p cameras up to 74.

Many U.S. senators, who occupy offices near the U.S. Capitol in Washington, DC, use the Hitachi DK-H32 and DK-H31 cameras to video teleconference with their colleagues in the Senate, as well as with constituents in their home states. With GDC drawing near, Autodesk has issued a call for submissions for its 2011 Games Show Reel. This year Autodesk is in search of the most outstanding game cinematics, trailers, in-game sequences and animations of 2010 created with Beast, HumanIK, Kynapse, Maya, 3ds Max, Softimage, MotionBuilder and/or Mudbox.

If you’re looking to garner maximum exposure for a game cinematic, trailer, in-game sequence or animation that you’ve recently worked on using qualifying Autodesk software and/or middleware, submit your project today! The show reel will not only be showcased at the Autodesk booth (#1424) during GDC from March 2-4, in San Francisco, CA, but also streamed live on the AREA, Autodesk.com, Autodesk’s YouTube Channel and various events throughout the year.
