Blackmagic Design today announced that Galaxy & Starlight, one of China’s top companies that provide film and video equipment rental and postproduction services, has purchased China’s first Linux-based DaVinci Resolve 7.0 non-linear color correction system, which takes advantage of the power of 8 GPUs for realtime 4K/2K/HD/SD and stereoscopic 3D grading.
With the goal of becoming one of the most influential service providers for China’s film and video industry, Galaxy & Starlight has been incorporating cutting edge equipment into their arsenal of production tools. The DaVinci Resolve 7.0 will provide Galaxy & Starlight’s customers with the industry’s best color correction, and will join the company’s long list of top technology products, including 2 HD OB Vans, one of the only two ARRIFLEX D-21 digital cameras in China, China’s first ARRI Alexa digital camera, RED ONE cameras, Sony HDCAM SR decks, Panasonic D-5 decks, an Arrilaser film recorder, a Quantel EQ system and many other camcorders, decks and postproduction systems.
