The digital production studio produced virtually every aspect of the production of eight spots, conceived by Encinitas, California agency NYCA, including conducting live action shoots at the lush Reynolds Plantation in Georgia with golf pros Dustin Johnson, Mike Weir, Sean O’Hara and Sergio Garcia, and at the TaylorMade factory in San Diego. Precision’s post team, meanwhile, contributed three months of intensive effort, carrying out graphic design, CG, color grading, compositing and editorial finishing. The spots are now airing worldwide. more

Broadcast Pix has a smaller iPhone app, iPixPad, that has been used by production teams to help produce many live shows, including the webcasts of the red carpet shows for several prominent awards shows. However, the new iPad is large enough to hold all of the controls of a complete live video production studio, so it can be the primary point of control. more

Venice, CA — MTV Award-winning music video director Robert Hales of production company Mothership has teamed up with teen pop superstar Miley Cyrus on the music video for “Can’t Be Tamed,� the title track off the album of the same name, which releases on Disney’s Hollywood Records on June 22. The video is a lavish visual feast featuring a new look and sound for Miley Cyrus, along with wildly elaborate costumes, set designs and choreography. The video also features languid visual effects from Mothership sister company Digital Domain, which created, among other things, massive digital raven wings for the songstress. “Can’t Be Tamed� premiered May 4th. more
