Prime Focus’ Terrence Dwyer Provides Sound Design and Mixing to 300th Episode of “Survivor�

img_1390new_sm.jpgHollywood, CA (May 7, 2010) – Prime Focus’ Director of Audio/Supervising Re-recording Mixer Terrence Dwyer recently completed audio work for the 300th episode of hit television reality show “Survivor,� which aired April 9, 2010.

The series premiered in 2000 and was an instant phenomenon, redefining the reality TV genre and spawning a wave of other competition-based reality programs. Throughout its 20 seasons, “Survivor� has remained one of the most popular reality TV shows, consistently outranking nearly every other show on the air during its timeslot. Dwyer was part of the original team that created “Survivor,� and has worked on the series as an audio mixer/sound designer since its inception. more

Console Used for Sports and Major Entertainment Events at Izmir Atatürk Stadium

IZMIR, TURKEY – Solid State Logic is pleased to announce the installation of a 24+8-fader C100 HDS console with two 128 DSP Blackrock Processor Units in the OB Van for TRT Izmir. Izmir, Turkey’s third largest city and second largest port after Istanbul, is home to Turkish Football League matches held at the 51,000 seat Izmir Atatürk Stadium. The SSL-equipped OB Van services the games and events at the stadium, as well as other important live events in and around Izmir. The C100 HDS uses one SSL BRIO unit housing 24 microphone inputs, 48 analogue line level I/O and 32 AES/EBU I/O to support live broadcast and capture. The surround ready console is part of the plan to move into HD broadcasting in the future. more

Trailer Park’s Advanced Content Group Expands, By Adding Four New Designers and Two New Programmers

Hollywood, CA, May 10, 2010 — Trailer Park’s Advanced Content Group (TPAC) continues to expand, by adding four new designers and two new programmers to its team. The announcement was made today by TPAC’s Executive Vice President Curt. Doty.

The new designers are Dario Khamvongsa, Rich Evangelista, Joseph Ng and Duane Pontoppidan. Khamvongsa and Evangelista join Trailer Park from Drissi and Deluxe, where Khamvongsa worked on the design and animation of Blu-ray disc releases of Sin City, Deathrace, Jumper, American Gangster, Spider-Man 3, and Inside Man, and Evangelista worked on such memorable titles as Couples Retreat, The Fast and the Furious, and The Bourne Identity. more

Olympic and world-champion skaters might have been on “Thin Ice” in a two-part reality show produced by O’Neil Entertainment, but lighting designer Scott Wolfeil of LDG (Lighting Design Group) was on solid ground when he sourced the competition’s lighting complement from Scharff Weisberg Inc.

“Thin Ice” aired live on March 19 and 21 on ABC from the Premier Ballroom of the MGM Grand at Foxwoods in Mashantucket, Connecticut. Olympic gold medalists Dick Button, Kristi Yamaguchi and Katarina Witt served as judges for the anything-goes competition, which paired skaters in five teams. more
