Public Invited in to First-Ever Truly Collaborative Feature ‘Out of Many’

(New York, NY) Lo-Fi Pictures’ feature length documentary “Out of Many,” (www.outofmanythemovie.com) focuses on a unique group of people who attended the inauguration of Barack Obama, an event that changed American history. On February 15th, 2010 ‘Out of Many’ breaks its own historical ground with a game-changer of a different sort. The film will be the first feature-length movie that invites and facilitates public collaboration and input into the editorial process. Prime Focus has completed over 90 VFX shots for the BBC’s new 5 x 60m HD series “How Earth Made Us.� The program explores how geology, geography and climate have influenced and continue to shape human history. Each episode examines a different force, including the effects of deep earth, wind, fire and water. Kodak will host a Fireside Chat panel at Slamdance featuring independent filmmakers discussing their budgetary and aesthetic reasons for shooting on film. Producer Vanessa Hope (Imperialists Are Still Alive), director-cinematographer Josh Safdie (Daddy Longlegs), and cinematographer Gavin Kelly (The Dry Land) will share their experiences working in the Super 16 mm format. All three of the panelists’ movies are screening at the Sundance Film Festival. The panel takes place on January 22, at 1 p.m. at the Treasure Mountain Inn and is free to festival attendees. more
