LONDON—Mexico City post house Oxido has acquired a Baselight ONE from FilmLight enabling it to offer colour grading services for the first time. The company’s principal aim is to provide grading services for its existing advertising clients, but it also plans to use Baselight to expand into long form post production. Oxido, whose advertising credits include work for Banamex, Telcel, Nestlé’s and Kellogg’s, expects to grade its first feature film later this year. more

Nola’s Morrison Snaps Color Art for U2 Album

When U2 fans open the deluxe edition of No Line on the Horizon, the band’s latest CD, they will find a book containing a beautiful color photo gallery that documents the legendary rockers throughout the album production process. Nola’s Kenny Morrison – working closely with Nola EP Charlie Curran and the book’s designer, long-time U2 Creative Director Catherine Owens – snapped these beautiful shots in Ireland and France. WAYNE, NJ December 15, 2009 – Larger Than Life…In 3D, a new concert film that features performances from Dave Matthews Band, Ben Harper and Relentless7, and Gogol Bordello, is currently in movie theaters for a limited, one-week engagement that began Dec. 11. The 3D concert film was shot with a combination of various 3D rigs using 2/3-inch HD cameras fitted with a pair of Fujinon HA42x9.7BE lenses. Three pairs of Fujinon HA22x7.8BE and one pair of HA16x6.3BE lenses were also used during the production. more

Minnesota’s leading arts facility, Ordway Center for the Performing Arts in downtown St. Paul, Minnesota, is home to a wide variety of performances, encompassing the finest in American musical theatre, world music, dance, jazz, opera, orchestral music and vocal artists. In addition to its in-house productions, Ordway also hosts theatrical road shows, and have three major arts partners, the Schubert Club, the St. Paul Chamber Orchestra, and the Minnesota Opera. In 2006, the Ordway was awarded a $7.5-million in bonding funds from the state of Minnesota, of which they began a multi-tiered renovation process that included a major overhaul of its performance audio and video systems in the 1,900-seat main hall, theatrical lighting system, rigging, stage floor and lobby event space, as well as security and HVAC systems. more
