AJA KONA 3 Boosts Final Cut Pro HD Workflow for AFI SilverDocs Winner ‘October Country’

daneal35.jpgFor “October Country,” the grand jury prizewinner at the 2009 AFI/Discovery Channel SilverDocs documentary festival, co-director Michael Palmieri developed a Final Cut Pro workflow that depended on AJA’s KONA 3 video capture card for playback during editing. Shot on DVCPRO HD, “October Country” documents the multigenerational story of a working-class family coping with poverty, teen pregnancy, foster care, child molestation and war.

Post Logic NY Expands With New Hires: Audio Engineer Kevin Wilson and Manager, New Business, Mick O’Connor

Video Crew Chronicles Historic Dive of USS Monitor for NOAA, Rutgers University

WAYNE, NJ –Diving professionals from Deep Explorers used a Fujinon XS13x3.3BRM wide angle lens to document an historic dive off the coast of Cape Hatteras, N.C., in June. In cooperation with the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) Office of the Marine Sanctuaries and Rutgers University Institute of Marine and Coastal Science, Deep Explorers gathered data on the wreck of the USS Monitor, a U.S. Navy warship that has been resting 230 feet down on the bottom of the Atlantic Ocean for more than 150 years. more
