New York-based Cutting Room editor Mike Douglas forces macho men to get in touch with their feminine side in the comic new :15s, “Wax and “Outfits, for Klondike out of DDB, NY. The spots show the humiliation and pain ice cream-loving guys will endure for the iconic Klondike Bar.

“Wax opens on a hairy gentleman at a spa. A voiceover asks, “What would you do for a Klondike Bar? as an esthetician pastes a waxing strip to the “built-on carpet on his chest. The man lies there, enjoying his Klondike Bar, until the esthetician rips the strip from his chest. “Ouch! he screams looking down at the now-hairless patch. The voiceover continues, “What would you do now that it has a thicker, more chocolaty shell? The esthetician moves south off screen, presumably to his nether regions, and rips off another strip of hair. He wails again and we cut to chocolate pouring over ice cream and the jingle, “What would you do for a Klondike Bar? A super, “Thicker chocolaty shell, appears coating a Klondike bar to close the spot.
“Outfits opens on a man named Dave who is carrying a pet Chihuahua, clad in a zebra-print coat with pink feathers. The announcer chimes in, “What would you do for a Klondike bar? Would you carry your girlfriend’s dog? We pan down and see that Dave is wearing a matching pink tutu with zebra-print pants. Dave unabashedly walks down the street munching on a Klondike bar while dressed like a Bratz doll. The spot ends as Dave runs into a friend who quizzically surveys him.
The campaign also includes the :15, “In-law.
