Boris Damast options feature film “Gear Head through InkTip
Boris Damast with Mechaniks has optioned “Gear Head from writer Michael Hultquist after discovering the script through InkTip, the screenplay facilitation company (www.InkTip.com). Pitched as a believable “Iron Man meets “Murderball project, “Gear Head tells the story of a handicapped genius who teams up with an electrical engineer to turn his wheelchair into a crime fighting machine. According to Boris, “movies that champion the underdog are precisely the sort of films people go to see in hard economic times and ‘Gear Head’ had everything we were looking for in a marketable story. Boris’s other projects include “Vivaldi, which has Joseph Fiennes, Malcolm McDowell and Gerard Depardieu attached, and “Without a Hitch which he found on InkTip, and is being packaged by Brillstein-Grey Entertainment. Hultquist, the writer of Michael Pierce’s “Victim, had this to say: “I received 3 emails with interest for ‘Gear Head’ in one week. The story was fun to write, with its ‘Batman in a wheelchair’ scenario. This is Hultquist’s second option in as many months, and his first through InkTip.
InkTip was launched in 2000 and has facilitated script acquisitions and writer hires for more than 80 produced feature films. Some of InkTip’s facilitated featured films include “San Saba (starring Vivica A. Fox), “Long Lost Son (starring Chase Crawford), “I Want to Marry Ryan Banks (starring Bradley Cooper), “Johnny Was (starring Vinnie Jones),“Outrage (starring Michael Madsen), and “How Did It Feel? (starring Blair Underwood). Through InkTip in 2008, Masiela Lusha, actress and CEO of Illuminary Films, picked up “On, Cupid!, “Angel Hair, and “Yellow Rose of Savona to top off Illuminary’s 5 film slate. To date, InkTip has facilitated 145 scripts sales, 695 script options, and 245 writer hires.
