DiGiCo On Broadway: Customized DiGiCo D5T Helps Usher “Billy Elliot� Musical To Top Tony & Drama Desk Accolades For Sound Design
The Broadway stage adaptation of the feel-good movie Billy Elliot, about a coal miner’s son who dreams to dance, scored a record 15 Tony nominations including “Best Musicalâ€?, “Best Sound Designâ€?, tying with “The Producers” for the most Tony nominations ever. In addition, the show took home 10 prestigious 2009 Drama Desk Awards, that also included “Outstanding Sound Designâ€?. The show’s sound designer, Paul Arditti, is an award-winning veteran of theatrical productions since getting his start at London’s National Theatre in 1985. Together with long-time friend and periodic collaborator, Academy Award nominated director, Stephen Daldry, Billy Elliot marks the duo’s first alliance on a musical production. more
