Gypsy Punk Documentary ‘Gogol Bordello Non-Stop’ To Make North American Debut at AFI Fest

gbns-poster.jpgNEW YORK, NEW YORK, September 30, 2008 – Gogol Bordello Non-Stop, Margarita Jimeno’s rollicking feature-length music documentary that goes behind the scenes of the gypsy punk band Gogol Bordello and its charismatic front man Eugene Hütz, will make its North American Premiere on November 1 at the prestigious AFI Fest in Los Angeles.

From the birth of a New York City downtown Ruso-disco phenomena, known as Bulgarian Bar, to a non-stop touring marathon, with his band Gogol Bordello, Eugene Hütz takes us deep into his artistic foundation. Through music, the film delivers messages of social and political commentary, and captures Gogol Bordello in the act of performing, whether as headliner or as the spark of incendiary jams. Taking pride in his Roma (or Gypsy) background, Hütz not only sings in Romany, he collaborates with and supports New York City’s Roma musicians. Gogol Bordello Non-Stop unfolds from 2001 to 2006, following Gogol’s steps from underground legends to international attention. more
