The Production Equipment Rental Association (PERA) has appointed John “J.J.� Johnston to the position of executive director. The announcement was made here today by PERA President, Pat Patin, co-owner and vice president of Texcam Inc., based in Houston, Texas. PERA was organized in 1993. NEW YORK, NEW YORK – April 1, 2008 – FlickerLab, the New York-based development, design and animation studio has created “Imagine (Heart),� a :30 animated spot developed through BeaconFey, LLC (Baltimore, MD) that promotes a variety of heart procedures available at St. Mary Medical Center (Langhorne, PA). The commercial began airing February 17th in lower and central Bucks County, PA. Two additional :30 spots, “Imagine (Neurosciences)� and “Imagine (Cancer),� will begin airing May 12th and August 25th respectively. All three are tagged “St. Mary Medical Center. It’s your Health. Stockholm, Sweden and Tokyo, Japan – 1 April, 2008 – Image processing pioneer Digital Vision and entertainment technology company IMAGICA Technologies Corp. announce that IMAGICA has licensed Digital Vision’s motion-compensated DVO Grain management software and integrated it with its IMAGER XE digital film scanner. The new standalone system, GR-DV, works in conjunction with the IMAGER XE to enable the DVO Grain tool to process film frames as they are scanned, reducing the visual impact of film grain without losing image content. Facilities, studios and broadcasters working on film, television, DVD and new media projects can now save valuable time with a single-pass scan/grain reduction process.
