Kodak Appoints Ann Turner to CMO of Film Division; Morelli to Lead Americas

Eastman Kodak Company has promoted Ann S. Turner to chief marketing officer and vice president of the Film, Photofinishing and Entertainment Group (FPEG), and Michael J. Morelli to vice president and general manager of its motion picture business in North and South America.

Turner is responsible for managing the Kodak brand across the company’s diverse portfolio of film and photofinishing products and services. Morelli will manage the business in the United States, Canada and all of Central and South America, in addition to his current role as vice president and worldwide general manager of Strategic Accounts, for which he oversees the division’s worldwide business with motion picture studios, production companies, and laboratories. more

TECHNICOLOR LAUNCHES DVD COMPRESSION & AUTHORING OPERATION IN INDIA

Technicolor, the Services Division of Thomson (Euronext 18453; NYSE: TMS), today announced the launch of a new compression and authoring (C&A) operation in Bangalore, India, to be co-located within Thomson’s new, 100,000 square-foot Paprikaas Animation and Game Design facility. The new C&A facility will open in May and will be based upon Thomson’s industry-leading research and development efforts for high-definition Blu-ray Disc and standard-definition DVDs. more

Headlight Creates the Opening Titles and VFX for Snow Angels

New York-based Headlight Design + VFX created the opening titles and provided some additional VFX work for feature film, Snow Angels (http://wip.warnerbros.com/snowangels/) with a simple, elegant, design-driven approach. From Warner Independent Pictures in association with Crossroads. Film division and True Love Productions, Snow Angels hit theatres nationwide March 21st. Written and directed by David Gordon Green from Stewart O’Nan’s inaugural novel, Snow Angels stars Kate Beckinsale, Sam Rockwell, Olivia Thirlby, and Michael Angarano. Set up like a mystery, Arthur, played by Michael Angarano, is at band practice when he hears gunshots in the distance. The movie then flashes back several weeks to explain what led to those shots. In the midst of a breakup, Arthur’s parents have left their son feeling stranded. But a transfer student played by Olivia Thirlby, (Ellen Page’s best friend in Juno), arrives on the scene like a gift from heaven. more
