San Francisco, CA – (March 24, 2008) – Umlaut is pleased to welcome Inome Callahan to its editorial team. Callahan joins Umlaut’s existing roster, which includes Doug Brown, Jessica Congdon, Peter Johnson and Jean Kawahara.

Most recently, Callahan was an editor at Radium where she recently completed a campaign for Adobe, and co-edited a documentary on human trafficking, which will tour with Amnesty International and screen at SXSW. Her teaser trailer for “Concert to End Slavery� recently screened in front of the United Nations in Vienna. more

Creative studio Exopolis has been tapped by BOHAN Advertising|Marketing in Nashville to realize a two-spot, fully animated TV campaign for the Pigeon Forge, Tenn., Department of Tourism. Taking viewers on a roller coaster ride through an animated travel map, the campaign provides a high-energy overview of this all-American travel destination. The spots “Five-Mile Ride—WonderWorks� and “Five-Mile Ride—Splash Country� break on April 21, 2008, but a sneak-peek debuted on www.mypigeonforge.com on March 18, 2008. more

The Brief:

Peter Holcomb of New York-based Sound Lounge mixes the colorful audio for the island of misfit toys in this fun filled spot for Ritz Bits Sandwiches. A toy action hero uses the cheesy sandwich halves to suction his way up a glass window. Out of nowhere we see his nemesis cowering above him causing him to plummet from the height. Our ninja hero lands on a toy dinosaur who feeds him a Ritz Bits as a consolation for not getting the bad guy. Suddenly, we are amidst the chaos of an eminent volcano eruption. A multitude of different toys shriek and cry out over their seemingly doomed fate. A helicopter is brought in to drop a round Ritz Bits over the opening, thus averting disaster. Playful giggles and dramatic, suspenseful music accompany the spot throughout to instill a sense of child like wonder exploring a magical toy box. more

Asylum creates the wondrous protected world for director Daniel Benmayor of Anonymous Content and Snapple’s Antioxidant Water. A young man walks out of a bodega and slowly savors the first refreshing sip of the new, better for you, beverage. His world is suddenly transformed into a safe haven. Underfoot appears sidewalks and streets made of bubble wrap where the buildings are sheathed with layers of plastic sheeting. Even a vicious dog becomes harmless as he is swaddled in a blanket of plastic wrap. more
