The Big Sky Documentary Film Festival, the premier venue for nonfiction film in the American West, is seeking submissions for its fifth annual event. From February 14-20, 2008 the festival will screen world and U.S. premieres, classics, rare and experimental works on Montana’s largest screen at the historic Wilma Theater in downtown Missoula, Montana. In addition to 7-days of screenings, many public and VIP events including panel discussions, galas, receptions and networking round-tables. more

The American Society of Cinematographers (ASC) has issued a call for entries in the two television categories–episodic and movie/miniseries/pilot–of the organization‘s annual awards competition. The deadline for submissions is noon on November 1. The winners will be revealed during the 22nd Annual ASC Outstanding Achievement Awards celebration here at the Hollywood & Highland Grand Ballroom on January 26, 2008. more

August 9, 2007 (Los Angeles, CA) The HPA Awards Committee is accepting entries for the HPA Engineering Excellence Awards, which showcase and reward inventors, manufacturers, vendors and/or peer post production companies for outstanding product or technology application offerings. The Engineering Excellence Awards are open to any individual, group of individuals or entity offering a submitted entry to the post industry at large.
