Final Cut Pro facility design experts, The DR Group, announced today that its DR Consulting division has completed the installation of 10 interconnected workstation locations for the LATV Networks, the nation‘s first bilingual music/entertainment network distributed via DTV digital multicast. DR Consulting refined and implemented the concept for LATV‘s fully integrated machine room and newly revamped master control suite.
The new Final Cut Pro workstations will be used on broadcast, Internet and prep for mobile deployments for the network. LATV‘s programming line up includes orginal programming, music videos, promo spots, feature segments, interviews and a daily LIVE show. Additionally, the new systems will be utilized to ingest LATV‘s LIVE 2 hour daily program, which is re-aired 2 hours after it‘s original broadcast.
“In working with The DR Group previously, they have demonstrated the expertise to take my concept and refine the design, enabling LATV to maximize our edit-to-air capability both efficiently and effectively.” said LATV Director of Engineering and Technology, Patrick Osterman, “We are committed to bringing the best in bilingual entertainment to our viewers and The DR Group has helped us reach that goal.”
Each Final Cut Pro workstation is equipped with the latest AJA cards and is tied via fibre network into the central machine room, which houses 28 TB of Apple XRaid storage.
“LATV represents the future of entertainment, with multiple broadcast platforms and languages,” said Lowell Kay, President of The DR Group. “We are excited that they tapped us to keep them solidly at the forefront of the industry.”
Led by company founder and digital entertainment expert Lowell Kay, DR Consulting handles all aspects of facility planning from advising on hardware and software systems to developing electrical strategies to logistical wiring and installation.
