The characters, Sat and Trans, The Bad Fats Brothers, were animated by FlickerLab, in partnership with Porter Novelli and Porter Novelli‘s client, the American Heart Association. The objective of the campaign is to make adults more aware of the dangers of both trans fats and saturated fats. FlickerLab‘s 1:05 flash animated webisode and website animation and design went online April 10th. more

BBC Worldwide strikes another deal with China

BBC Worldwide, the BBC‘s commercial arm, today announced its first ever global clips deal with the Chinese state broadcaster, CCTV.

The deal brokered by BBC Motion Gallery, the archive clips sales arm of BBC Worldwide, means that BBC Motion Gallery will distribute clip footage globally on behalf of CCTV furthering BBC Worldwide‘s connections with the Chinese state broadcaster. Avolites on the Bloc

LD Dom Smith is using an Avolites Diamond 4 console to run his lightshow on Bloc Party’s current “A Weekend In The City” world tour. The UK leg of the tour also features a RADlite NG1 digital media server which is run via the D4.

Smith came onboard in December last year, and the band’s latest touring campaign kicked off in the new year. He was given a free rein in the design, although the band had a few pointers – primarily as to what they didn’t want. more

After Dark Magic at LEGOLAND with CMT

CMT (Creative Media Techniques) produced and co-ordinated all technical production for LEGOLAND‘s hugely popular “After Dark” 2007 event, featuring three evenings of spectacular laser, light and dancing water shows to launch the arrival of the new LEGO® BatmanTM range.

CMT has worked with LEGOLAND for the last 5 years on this and other shows at the Windsor attraction. LEGOLAND event director Penny Jenkins approached CMT‘s Tim Fothergill with an initial idea for the 2007 show, which included the brief that it should be Batman themed, contain lasers and ‘dancing‘ water and be staged at the park‘s Adventure Lake site. more

Victoria's SecretOn very short notice Scharff Weisberg filled a large lighting order for a Victoria‘s Secret commercial shooting at Steiner Studios in Brooklyn. In the provocative Victoria‘s Secret tradition, the spot, directed by Michael Bernard of cYclops Productions, featured beautiful models and sexy lingerie.

“We‘ve done a lot of spots direct for Victoria‘s Secret,” says Lance Anderson, executive producer at cYclops Productions. “often, the concept is simply the girls and the product so we try to make everything as visually appealing as possible”. This was our first experience with Scharff Weisberg, and everything went off smoothly and without a hitch. It was a real pleasure.” more
