HSL Supplies Kinesys & ColorBlocks for Keane

HSL supplied a 12-way Kinesys automation system, 220 ChromaQ ColorBlock DB4s and 4 Robe DigitalSpot DT5000s to LD Rob Sinclair for the latest leg of Keane‘s “Under The Iron Sea” world tour, which featured a series of sold-out UK arena shows.

The lighting supply was a joint production between HSL and their Blackburn neighbours Lite Alternative. This combination worked really well on the recent Human League tour Sinclair did just before Christmas, so he decided to go with it again. more

THE GRANDMA PROVES TO BE GOOD CHOICE FOR “WICKED” AS HIT MUSICAL RETURNS TO LA

Wicked“Wicked,” the hit musical about the witches of Oz, returned to Los Angeles February 21 for an open run with three grandMAs and one grandMA Light controlling lighting and video projections. A.C.T Lighting is the North American distributor of the grandMA.

“Wicked” previously played in LA during the summer of 2005; the new production, featuring some new staging, calls The Pantages Theater home. more

XL Video on Keane

XL Video UK has supplied lighting designer Rob Sinclair and production manager Dermot Lynch with a Barco MiTrix screen, plasma screens and cameras for Keane‘s UK arena tour.

Sinclair is an innovative LD who believes in the full integration of video and lighting into his show, “It‘s important to make the two elements fit and work seamlessly together” he states.

Sinclair has always asked XL to look after his video requirements, and the company has been involved since the very first Keane tour in 2004. Looking after the tour is Des Fallon who “is a gentleman and an account handling legend” enthuses Sinclair. more

ETC UK Boosts Christie Digital Projector Stock

Projection specialists ETC UK Ltd. is increasing its stock of high power video projectors with the acquisition of Christie Roadie 25k projectors (‘Roadies‘).

ETC UK Ltd. has also taken delivery of Christie‘s new Roadster S+20K projection system, a mid-range projector, purpose-built for the event-staging community.

Andy Joyes, ETC UK’s Video Hire Manager was impressed with the performance of the new projectors; “The Christie 20K‘s are bright and offer razor-sharp images for both video and graphics applications. FlickerLab Creates Graphic Package for “Kings of South Beach”

For A&E Network‘s original movie Kings of South Beach, based on the true story of the rise and fall of mob-connected Miami nightlife impresario Chris Paciello (called “Chris Troiano” here), FlickerLab, the New York-based development, design and animation studio, created graphics for a promotional package that included title cards, end pages, banners, bugs, and transitions. The promotion package is currently airing on A&E. Kings of South Beach will premier on A&E Monday, March 12, 9ET/8C. more
