AvatarLabs Rebrands KLCS TV with over 80 Motion Graphics Pieces

Flextech Television Adds Digital Rapids StreamZ for VOD and Mobile Encoding

30 January 2007, Passfield, UK: Digital Rapids, through London-based distributor ERA, has completed the sale and installation of their StreamZ encoding solution into Flextech Television Ltd, the content division of digital television and broadband provider ntl:Telewest.

Operated by the NewMedia/Interactive department at Flextech‘s London facility, StreamZ has been integrated into their network with its media storage accessible to their edit platforms, primarily encoding full programmes to WMV for their VOD service and MPEG-1 and MPEG-4 deliverables for their mobile carriers. more

Kodak Enhances DIGITAL ICE For Film Scanners

Kodak has introduced an enhanced version of its proprietary DIGITAL ICE Technology. The software is designed to automatically detect and eliminate dust, scratches and other anomalies while film images are being converted to digital files for postproduction. KODAK DIGITAL ICE Technology Version 2.0 more fully integrates with other postproduction applications and offers more output options, making it a state-of-the-art tool for creatives and end users.

KODAK DIGITAL ICE Technology Version 2.0 incorporates an option for providing “untouched” image data along with the output defect matte generated by the software. Snyder notes that the “untouched” information feature can be more efficient for facilities that have invested in other dust- busting workflow technologies. more
