Nominations for the 79th Annual Academy Awards were announced by Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences President Sid Ganis and past Oscar nominee Salma Hayek.

Ganis and Hayek, who was nominated for an Academy Award in 2002 for her lead performance in “Frida”, announced the nominations in 10 of the 24 categories at a 5:30 a.m. live news conference at the Academy‘s Samuel Goldwyn Theater in Beverly Hills. Nominations in all categories then were distributed to the over 400 international media representatives in attendance and via the Internet on the official Academy Awards website. more

FlickerLab, the New York-based design and animation studio, has created a pair of humorous, animated commercials for Telecinco (TV5), the leading Spanish broadcasting company. Conceived by agency McCann Erickson (Madrid, Spain), the campaign, including the :30 “Operación Malaya” and the :30 “Tripartito,” began airing throughout Spain December 28, 2006 and will continue to air through 2007. more
