Culver City, Ca. – October 9, 2006- Runway Inc. has chosen Howard Brock as President of the company. Brock will oversee both sales and operations and keep the company current on new technologies, equipment and plan strategies which can offer better cutting edge services to the clients.
“I‘m happy to be at Runway continuing the work which Roberta Margolis has done over the last 14 years to build this company into a well regarded non-linear rental and services business that it is today,” said Brock.
With over two decades in working for the post production community, Brock is no stranger to the high demands of the entertainment industry. He pioneered the concept of portable off-line and on-line editing systems that could be set up in production offices. Brock excelled from editing hit television shows, winning an Emmy for his work on Fame, to establishing himself as a co-founder and CEO of Matchframe Video, a major post production facility in Burbank.
“Howard is the perfect addition to Runway. He was one of the first to develop the idea of rental units and is exceptionally innovating in the finishing area,” states Roberta Margolis, CEO of Runway. “Our clients will benefit from Howard‘s ability to integrate from capture all the way through to finishing for broadcast or for features. Many of our clients are now inquiring with us on changing their technology for finishing in the editing room and looking for new ways to do sound and integrating that with the old ways of producing television and film.”
Most recently, Runway was acquired by the Cooper Brothers which now makes them part of a collection of leading post production companies such as, The New Post Group, Lightning Media, Novastar Sound, Creative Edge, Momentum, and iO Film (a partner company). The acquisition enables the Cooper Brothers‘ companies to offer essential nonlinear editing /finishing systems, rental support and related services to all its clients.
“With the combined knowledge and experience of both Runway‘s staff and the Post Group family of companies we can help our customers navigate new technologies and workflows efficiently and successfully,” states Brock.
Runway continues to be the top provider of editing systems and support services to all of its clients from HD systems for feature films as well as lower cost solutions for projects that require a creative approach to shrinking budgets. Runway has participated in more than 900 successful features and television series. Their latest television projects include, Medium, Numb3rs, The Nine, Sopranos and House, and on the feature side, World Trade Center, Miami Vice, Monster House and Georgia Rule.
Founded in 1992, Runway introduced 24/7 tech support for digital editing and finishing of films and television.
