Paula Bernstein of IndieWire writes: Vimeo's just-launched Brand Creative Fund premieres its first short today. As one of four films that interpret the theme "Hello Again," it's designed to jumpstart the 80-year-old Lincoln Motor Company brand.  

It's a partnership that could be positioned as a savior or the antichrist -- or it could be the rare instance where art and commerce forge a symbiotic relationship.

Vimeo on Demand Enables Creators to Sell Their Works Directly to Audiences

Vimeo today launched its open self-distribution service, Vimeo On Demand. Available now to all Vimeo PRO members, Vimeo On Demand empowers creators to sell their works directly to their audiences and retain a 90 percent share of the revenue after transaction costs. In addition to its creator-friendly revenue share, Vimeo On Demand gives creators the flexibility and control to choose their price; select country-by-country availability; customize their page design; and offer content on Vimeo, their own website, or both.  

Vimeo Makes Hollywood-Style Effects Available to Anyone by Expanding Enhancer to Include 'Looks'

Vimeo has added visual enhancements called Looks to its video Enhancer toolbox, so now everyone can apply high quality, stylistic visual effects to their videos in addition to the licensed music options currently available.
 
“By adding Looks, Vimeo continues to provide the tools that help people easily make better videos,” said Vimeo CEO, Kerry Trainor. “Nearly every minute you see on TV or in movies has been visually enhanced. Everyone wants the same quality as the pros, but it’s out of reach for most people. Our aim is to make these types of high quality visual effects easy and accessible to everyone.”

Vimeo Previews Upcoming Pay-to-View Service with Six Movies

Vimeo has opened the preview phase of its upcoming pay-to-view service with the release of six movies. This slate of films -- handpicked by the Vimeo staff -- illustrates Vimeo’s flexible suite of features for creators to sell their films directly to their audiences worldwide with control over pricing, viewing periods, release geography and bonus content features.

Vimeo's New Tip Jar

Vimeo has rolled out a "tip jar" feature which will ask viewers to make a donation to the content creators. The video sharing site also has plans to eventually roll out a pay wall asking viewers to pay before watching.

Vimeo will take 15% of all tip jar donations but still hasn't announced how much it will take from prepaid content. Read more here on AllThingsD.
