Doug Aitken's 'Song 1' Wraps Museum in 360-Degree Panoramic Video

The circular exterior of Washington D.C.'s Hirshhorn Museum is currently being wrapped in a 360-degree blanket of video, courtesy of artist Doug Aitken. Aitken's "Song 1" uses the classic ballad "I Only Have Eyes For You" as a basis for the panoramic visuals.

Says Aitken, "I was interested in the idea of the architecture of a perfect pop song. Why is it reduced to three and a half minutes? Why does it have a hook that repeats?...Imagine the entire idea as a grid. The grid has a tempo, and the tempo is 60 beats per minute. How does everything fit into this architecture of a grid?”
