Wireimage.com chooses JVC GY-HD100U camcorders for entertainment event coverage
Leading digital photographic press agency and wire service for the entertainment industry, WireImage.com, selects JVC Professional Products Company GY-HD100U ProHD camcorder as their camera of choice for the company's successful video division, WireImageVideo.
On the red carpet and behind the scenes at the hottest entertainment events throughout Los Angeles, New York, and London, WireImage Video utilizes JVC's GY-HD100s for their A-roll interviews and B-roll footage. As the official videographers and photographers of the 2006 Sundance Film Festival, WireImage shot all the festivals' events and attending talent in HD using the GY-HD100U camcorders, producing top quality imagery to its worldwide client base. WireImage's clients take the HD footage as a direct digital feed via File Transfer Protocol (FTP).
"Broadcasters around the world use our footage on a daily basis. And everyday, more and more broadcasters are requesting footage in HD which is why we needed a camera that shoots in HD and SD," said Justin Kahn, co-founder and VP of WireImage. "We looked at every camera in this space and JVC's ProHD camera was the only one designed for both ENG and studio shooting. It provides amazing picture quality without any visual loss and we can even pull stills from the HD footage. Our videographers love this camera because of its form factor and flexible lens options. The GY-HD100 truly is a professional camera that answers all WireImage Video's needs."
"We're honored to have such a prestigious organization as WireImage speak about our camera with such enthusiasm and high regard," said Craig Yanagi, national marketing manager, creation products, JVC Professional Products Company. "For JVC it's about
delivering the most innovative technology and high picture quality that truly allows the person to empower their creative vision. It's extremely gratifying to see the GY-HD100s being used in the many diverse applications for which it was designed."
