American Cinema Editors Announces Nominees for 56th Annual Ace Eddie Awards
The American Cinema Editors (ACE) announced nominations for the 56th Annual ACE Eddie Awards recognizing outstanding editing in seven categories of film, television, and documentaries. Winners will be revealed during ACE's 56th annual black-tie awards ceremony on Sunday, Feb. 19, 2006, in the International Ballroom of the Beverly Hilton Hotel, where Ron Howard will be honored with the ACE Golden Eddie Filmmaker of the Year Award and Ed Abroms, A.C.E., and Terry Rawliings, A.C.E., will receive Career Achievement awards. There was a tie in the Best Edited One-Hour Series for Commercial Television allowing for four nominees rather than the standard three in that category.
Final Ballots will be mailed on Friday, Jan. 20 with polls closing on Feb. 3. The Blue Ribbon panels take place Jan. 28 and 29 where all projects are viewed and judged by panels comprised of professional editors (all ACE members). All 530 ACE members vote during the final balloting of the ACE Eddies, including active members, life members, affiliate members and honorary members.
