Except for a few fluorescent models, those small, highly portable HMI and tungsten soft lights — spec'd for camcorders as well as tight spaces — run hot. Now, Fisher Light introduces the Mini LitePanel, a compact, practically heat-free LED lamp head. With an output of 80 foot-candles at 2ft., the 5600K head is claimed to be three times more efficient than a conventional tungsten camera light. Measuring 6.75"×2.25"×1.25", the flicker-free LitePanel weighs about a pound, so it's easy to fit on a camera with its optional extension arm. Dim it from 0 to 100 percent with virtually no shift in color. The kit contains two LitePanel heads, two batteries, a charger/AC adapter, gels, and a detachable base plate.
