SATA and FC go together

While vendors often specify Fibre Channel drives for use in SANs, other drive connection technologies can work, often at a lower cost. Xtore's new Fibre Channel-Serial ATA RAID storage arrays combine the lower-cost SATA technology with the high throughput of Fibre Channel host interfaces. The company supplies the casing and all the necessary hardware, but buyers install their own drives, enabling savings for the savvy shopper. These rackmount storage solutions include dual Ultra 320/160 SCSI or dual 2Gbps Fibre Channel host connections. Twelve (2U) or sixteen (3U) 10,000rpm Serial ATA drives are supported in cable-less hot swap drive trays.
