Jay Leno to Entertain NAB 2002 Attendees
WASHINGTON, D.C. -- The National Association of Broadcasters hasannounced that Jay Leno, host of the Emmy Award-winning "The TonightShow with Jay Leno," will perform at a special concert at the annualNAB Convention in Las Vegas.
Leno will entertain NAB 2002 attendees Sunday, April 7 at an eventto be held at the Bellagio Hotel and Casino beginning at 9 p.m. An 8:00p.m. reception for all ticket holders will kick-off the event. Alimited number of advance-purchase tickets will be available to NAB2002 attendees.
Leno, now in his ninth year as host of "The Tonight Show with JayLeno," follows in the footsteps of legendary NBC late-night hosts SteveAllen, Jack Paar, and Johnny Carson. He has created his own uniquelate-night style with a combination of humor, talk, andentertainment.
In addition to the nine-year milestone, "The Tonight Show with JayLeno" has experienced numerous highlights during its reign, includingwinning two Emmy Awards and a TV Guide Award for Favorite Late NightShow. "The Tonight Show with Jay Leno" is also the only late nightnetwork television program produced in high-definition television.
Prior to becoming host of "Tonight," Leno was the exclusive guesthost on "The Tonight Show Starring Johnny Carson." One of the country'spremiere comedians, Leno continues to appear in comedy shows around theU.S., as he has done for the past 20 years. In 1995, he traveled toAviano, Italy, where he performed for military troops involved inpeacekeeping efforts in Bosnia.
NAB 2002 takes place April 6-11 in Las Vegas (exhibits open April8). It is the world's largest trade event covering the convergence ofbroadcasting, multimedia and the Internet, audio and videocommunications, and telecommunications.
