Pinnacle Systems and PacketVideo Partner on Mobile Video Initiative

Pinnacle Systems has entered into a development partnership withPacketVideo to integrate standards-compliant MPEG-4 encoding capabilityinto Pinnacle's StreamFactory family of encoders. The expanded offeringenables StreamFactory to produce live and Video-on-Demand content forthe commercial launch of mobilemedia services. PacketVideo's MPEG-4complements the RealNetworks, Microsoft Windows Media and optionalSorenson Media QuickTime for Windows formats available today onStreamFactory.

StreamFactory products will implement support for MPEG-4 encoding inthe same StreamFactory HTML interface whose flexibility, ease-of-useand remote management capability have made it the choice of enterpriseand carrier-class operations worldwide. StreamFactory's MultiStreamfunctionality enables it to encode up to four simultaneous streams inany combination of MPEG-4, Real, Windows Media, and QuickTimeformats.

Availability

MPEG-4/PacketVideo-enabled StreamFactory systems and upgrades forexisting customers are available through Pinnacle's worldwide networkof Broadband Solutions resellers starting this July.
