Technicolor Digital Cinema Partners with Warner Bros. Pictures to Digitally Distribute “Ocean’s Eleven”
Technicolor Digital Cinema, a joint venture between Technicolor andQUALCOMM Inc. (Nasdaq: QCOM), has been selected as the digitaldistribution partner for Warner Bros. Pictures’ "Ocean’sEleven," which premieres digitally in selected theatres nationwide onFriday, December 7.
The digital debut of "Ocean’s Eleven" is a major milestone forTechnicolor Digital Cinema, which earlier this year unveiled plans todeploy its first systems by the end of 2001. "Ocean’s Eleven" isthe first movie to utilize Technicolor Digital Cinema’s newdigital delivery system featuring sophisticated QUALCOMMtechnology.

Pictureshas chosen for this feature the Technicolor Digital Cinema architectureand, in turn, are delighted to support Warner Bros. in this milestonerelease.” Technicolor Digital Cinema is expected to digitallydistribute "Ocean’s Eleven" at more than 19 sites in NorthAmerica, including existing digital cinema beta sites and otherlocations. The beta site theatres were initially equipped 12 to 18months ago to present digital motion pictures as part of TexasInstruments’ DLP Cinema demonstration program, which was fundedin part by Technicolor Digital Cinema.
By the end of this year, Technicolor Digital Cinema expects to signand announce several commercial agreements to provide, install, andmaintain digital cinema systems in multiple theatre chains across thecountry.
